My time in the ATS

Kindle (~117 pages)
A Bristol woman's story of her time spent in Britain's Auxiliary Territorial Service.

Marking Time:

Christine Constance Mellick, or 'Chrilly' to her friends and family, was born in Bristol on 25th January 1919. Her first marriage, to Kenneth Watkins Jones, a submariner, sadly lasted barely a year as he was reported 'missing' in February 1941 when his submarine failed to turn up at an arranged rendezvous off the coast of France. Shortly after his death Chrilly, who wanted to escape from the confines of her civilian employment, joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service (the women's branch of the British Army) along with her sister Isabel.

This is the story of her time spent in the ATS.
